Motorola to Cut 10% of Staff in Compa...

Despite its acquisition by tech giant Google, Motorola is having a trouble keeping pace with its new owners.
The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Motorola will be forced to cut as much as 1,200 employees from its global operations, accounting for 10% of the phone manufacturer’s total work force. Cuts will be made to operations in China, India and the United States.
This wouldn’t be the first time Google has ordered a massive retrenching of the Illinois based phone company. Last August, Motorola dropped as much as 20% of its staff in August last year.

Smartphones to Overtake Feature Phone...

Out with the old; in with the new.
And one of the things that’s probably going to get tossed with the times is that old Blackberry you’ve been holding on for so long.
Market research firm IDC has posted in their latest Worldwide Mobile Phone Tracker report that the smartphone market will outship the feature phone market by this year.
With a projected 918.6 million million smartphones set to hit to market, it’ll account for a little more than half of the entire mobile phone shipments in the entire world.
While smartphone penetration has been growing year on year, this marks the first time that smartphones will overtake features phones on a global level.

TMONews has just reported that T-Mobile will be dropping all postpaid offerings from all Target stores across the United States. This includes all post-paid products which includes new subscriptions and changes in service.  
With nearly 700 Target stores across the United States offering T-Mobile postpaid products; the decision might sound like a big blow to Target’s retail presence, but T-Mobile is reported to continue to support its full line of prepaid products and services in over 1,700 Target stores nationwide.
